If you're happy and you know it!!

Truly I have been spoiled by all the exciting things I got to have in one little weekend.  Instead of wishing for more time, I will be thankful for all these fabulous things to be excited about... I will try to bundle them nicely here but pretty sure I'm gonna get a little jumbled!

Friday night we went straight from Huntersville to the Lynch household where we found a big bundle of people we LOVE! Kristina was in all the way from Colorado and everyone else convened in Graham to celebrate Baby Boggus and time together of course.
Parker and Tinley were with us and although much past their bedtime, they soaked in as much as they could as well!

Tinley couldn't quite figure out that baby in the belly thing. Kristina was a great sport as showing her belly over and over...and over!

Look like Andy is teaching Tinley something about this toy...or is she teaching him?

In Parker's attempt to stay awake he went back and forth between bouncing off the walls and playing his DS... with many cozy seats available:)

Is Tinley trying to rest her eyes while Anna holds her or just tired of Mama's flash in her eyes?

Here we are with a few tiny guests. In college we spent every night together like we did this night...talking, playing, laughing, and sharing life... How blessed I was to have these ladies as friends and roommates then..and to share my new roommates with them now:)

We did have to leave before midnight struck although Parker and Tinley thought they would continue the party at Booya and Grandaddy's. We did eventually go to sleep! Tinley was a little bummed that her friends Lydia and Claire were asleep Friday night but not to worry Lydia made a little visit the next morning. Was she excited to see her..I'd say so!

 Then shower time!

What a beautiful pregnant lady Kris makes...Baby Boggus already looking cute in that perfect little bump!

So many great photo ops that it takes more than one camera...here is my (inspired me to blog) friend taking pictures of taking pictures! So sometimes we might get carried away!

Much to our impatience, Kristina and Justin have decided not to found out if they are having a boy or girl. We made some predictions. Sheryl and Mom think girl...

The rest of us leaning towards a boy...I guess part of us will be right:)

Lots of little cuteness at this shower. So great to see Mandy and Savannah!

Happy baby shower!!

This normally would have been just too much fun already, but we had more celebrating to do! Happy Birthday to Booya today!  We celebrated her birthday last night. We started off with our 3rd annual scavenger hunt (and the first one not won by the Bullis family:(. We are SURE something went wrong there...It was lots of fun and some were quite the challenge this year. If you're looking for some good riddles to solve, call me and I'll send you out!!
When we got back, some kid sized games for the little ones.

*Here is a not so hard example of our scavenger hunt: Where Carolina fans get their legal stash of drugs...
Answer: Tarheel Drugs...

Happy Birthday Mom! You sure deserve the very best!

Oops, fogot to take a picture before the kids got everything off the cake. Booya was sure to share with everyone before the cake was cut!

There was lots of great family time, but I missed a few pictures here at the end. I was getting a headache and had to turn in early...I guess I was about to bust with all these great celebrations in one day!

*Happy Birthday to Eli today too!! Wished we could have celebrated with you!

Tea and Cheese Please!

After a long week, it was nice to have the weekend to regroup and hang out.  Friday afternoon Parker and Tinley had some tea with her new tea set (thanks to the Zinn family!).  It must be nice for Parker to have a sister and give him a good excuse for a tea party...It must be nice for Tinley to have a brother who will enjoy tea and appreciate her love for Cinderella (they are at Disney World after all!)

As you see, our party started on the ground...we are fancy around here.

Eventually (*this is Parker's word of the week), we moved to the table after several spills were crowding our space.
*Parker continues to use eventually in a sentence as he discovered this new word he'd like to try out. I asked him to use it for Brandon last night. He said, eventually I will find a girlfriend so I can get married and if I don't, I won't.  Very deep.

Today we spent a lot of the morning cleaning up, doing laundry, and some other have to's on our list. Our neighbors were nice enough to let Parker "help" in their garden to keep him entertained while Tinley was napping and we were finishing up.

Parker has decided he'd like to do Spring T-ball so it was a nice day for some practice.

 Oops, lost the ball...

 Found the ball...

We think he seems to be improving from the fall already...

But even if not, his mama sure thinks he looks cute trying...We shall see!

We finally managed to leave the house and with encouragement from some coupons decided to visit Chuck E Cheese since it's been a while since we've seen him. It was a nice surprise for the kids and they certainly acted plenty excited. Of course I didn't take my camera there because I can hardly keep up with my family...These are some pictures from Brandon's phone so even though they are not that great...here they are.

Here is Parker contemplating what to do first and telling me that Chuck E Cheese is on a coin so he must be a President. I am hoping he was trying to make a joke:)

Tinley spotting the big Chuck E Cheese in real life:) I don't know what it is about mice...No one seems to like the real thing, but put them in a costume and they're pretty famous. Tinley loves Mickey and Chuck E!

A ride around the clock...so much fun!

A simulator...Tinley will go where Parker goes...He chose a jet pack adventure and of course she was along for the ride.

When we got back, there was just enough time to play with the rocket they won with their tickets...and a huddle that turned into a cuddle:)

So thankful Saturdays come just when you need them most!

Hearts...

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also- Matthew 6:21

In the past couple of weeks, we've been teaching about the heart (the real heart, not the shape). Then we've also been learning about the origins of Valentine's Day...and discussing the heart shape...a whole lot of heart.  Anyways-After learning about St. Valentine and how he married people when it was against the law, we also learned that people first made Valentine's Day about hearts because they thought that is where their feelings came from , but really it's your brain that controls your feelings....I think maybe they were talking about the heart as God does...your souls heart...(this is my serious thought) and maybe they thought the heart shape was a lot prettier than a fist shaped organ (trivial thought).  I always like Valentine's Day for the silly reasons and any opportunity to think about one's real heart. This year it turns out a very good opportunity for both.  As we celebrated and enjoyed the fun things about Valentine's Day, there have been several losses among people we know this week...even the loss of Brandon's Uncle Robert.  So today I know there are happy hearts and heavy hearts but I also know that indeed where your treasure is, your heart will be also. We will be remembering and celebrating this special life later this week. Please send prayers as there will be some hard days ahead for the many people's lives that Robert has touched as a friend, father, Poppy, brother, uncle, husband and son...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are a few pictures of our past few days...Anna sent us home with a box. It has proven to be Thomas the Train, a hiding place, a slide...Parker even wrote his homework on it. Now I'm kind of afraid we aren't going to be able to get rid of it.

Silly chocolate faced Tinley...

 Some of our Valentine goodies...

More of the box...oh boy...They decided to pretend they were Daddy's package in the mail.

More than a blogfull!

There have been a few things I just haven't gotten to post on here....and I'm trying oh so hard to remember the things I want to remember (this could get confusing). So here's a little recap of the past several days...

Last Thursday we had a new venture at HCE...a math and science night. We kicked off the day by dressing like a math or science word...Parker wanted to be minus so naturally I was plus. I think that makes us nothing? Neutral...neutral sounds more peaceful than nothing. See why I have never understood math- I'm even trying to give math words a personality..

Then I got to have a quick and fun trip to Atlanta...a visit with Anna- such a treat! We enjoyed lots of talking, some great movies, a little shopping, lots of yummy food, a great church service, laughing out loud and happy happy girl time!  I love this girl!  She also took me to this great view of Atlanta. This is at a restaurant at the top of the Westin in downtown Atlanta.

We went up really high in this elevator (kind of reminded me of Willy Wonka) except we did stop and instead of being with Willy Wonka we were in the elevator with a couple who got married that morning...So sweet.

Here is one of the views of the city...

And a view of our dessert...

And we are here about to be sick from eating that yummy dessert but smiling still:)

Then we went to a little store where we wanted to buy about everything...and at last when I wasn't looking for them...I found panties just the right size for Tinley. Why am I so excited about this you ask...well I had just given up that she was going to have to wear cheapy pre washed saggy panties until her bum grew into them. (This is one area we don't have a lot in common!) These looked perfect and comfortable...and they worked. If you can't see what they say- it says, I'm a Big Girl Now! Yes you are.

They were a little more expensive...but hey everyone deserves to have some comfortable underwear...at least one pair right? She was so excited to put them on! Not to mention her new bathing suit...just as it's getting cold, we are getting ready for the summer!

Anyways we had a great time and went to a movie/dinner place and saw The Vow...you should see it...and call me after you do so I can reflect with you.

I headed home today and was happy to see these sweet faces. And thanks to Anna I did not go home empty handed! Parker loved his new Angry Bird shirt. He is planning to wear it tomorrow! There is more to update but I think I need to get ready for Monday now...it comes every week! Hope you all have a great one!
