Indeed!

Happy Easter! This morning I was doing a lesson with the kids at church- so exciting to celebrate the Easter story with the children. All through church this morning we would hear- He Is Risen and of course the reply was, He is Risen-  Indeed!! Realizing that children often say things but have no idea why, I asked them- why do we say "Indeed"? A little girl with much confidence said "it means like we are totally for sure." Yes couldn't have said it better myself. He Is Risen Indeed!

We kicked off our season to Carowinds on opening day yesterday. It turned out to be a beautiful day. We're always excited to walk in the gates no matter who many times we've been before.

She's tall enough! Last year we only did one visit to Carowinds, but they sent Tinley away just shy of the height requirement for the swings...not anymore!

Who needs the Easter Bunny when you have the Easter Beagle?

Enjoyed seeing some old friends.

So glad these two can buddy up on rides now- not that I don't like riding on the tiny rides, but sometimes I wonder if I can get out.

This is the ONE game they picked to play.

New dinosaur exhibit!

A good day had by all- and we left with a banana that looked like Spiderman (nicknamed Spidernana) and a pink raccoon with the original name of Princess Leia. These will come in handy in my treasure box at school once they've received a little love.

Checking our our baskets this morning. This little mama was mostly thrilled to have her own wipe holder and diaper for her babies. Very exciting.

Parker couldn't believe he had his very own Magic Tree House book (he has been checking them out from school rapidly).

Our morning at church was very busy and my hopes of getting some pictures before or after didn't work out....I just got these on my phone real quick.

The kids thought it would be funny to make lollipop poses.

If you can't tell from their creative perspective, the lollipops are eyes below;) Sometimes you just have to go with it!

Spring Fever?

Can we call it Spring Fever when it actually is spring...but feels like winter...but we still want spring...and we're doing spring activities? I think so. Despite the strange weather we had a really nice weekend and are getting prepared for a short week ahead and then a spring break where we know the REAL spring is waiting to emerge....We can't wait!

Parker got to go to a Star Wars lego workshop Saturday morning at the Lego store...which for Parker is his the pretty ideal kind of class. Here is his buddy and my former student, Kyle....like minded in their lego ways.

He also had his first game of the season...and the rain held off. All went well for a good start and the team voted on Parker's idea for a team name- meet the Orange Dragons.

Tinley doing a little "practice" during the game.

Later we had some fun visitors where we were happy to love on little Braxton!

Thankfully he thought Tinley was hilarious and didn't mind her invading his personal space.

Time to dye some Easter eggs!

This morning we went to the Palm Sunday service. I'm not sure this is exactly the Palm waving most people think of, but the Palms were waved...rapidly.

Later we came back to church for our Easter "Eggstravaganza" which was moved inside due to the cold rainy weather...but no worries...lots of fun to be had.

Tinley and parker got to participate as they shared a good way to remember the meaning of Easter using the letters in the word-

E- God loves Everyone.
A-We are All
S-Sinners
T- Jesus was crucified and buried in the Tomb
E- But the tomb was Empty
R- Because he was Risen!

We had a fun time enjoying all the activities and ended up making a rainy day pretty joyful!

Tinley and her buddy from school (who happens to be a superhero!)

And while we were out... a brief visit to the funny bunny at the mall:)

Erin Go Braugh

One of my favorite Irish sayings for obvious reasons....I always had a fun time as a little girl thinking I had a little special "in" on the whole Ireland/St. Patrick's Day thing just because of my name (and my Mom's delicious green meals). I even got to visit Ireland in my college days ..beautiful scenery, castles, cathedrals, happy little towns...and hours and hours on the bus with Amy;) There's just no reason not to smile when I think about the "luck of the Irish."

It just so happens there's another fun day for me around this time of year...What a happy birthday (week) or (two) I had! So many special little thoughtful things that made a great birthday for me. My only pictures I really have are of my two cakes.
My first cake (with my finger in my picture) made my some of my favorite little people. I believe it had sand, bubbles, dirt, and a bubble wand candle. Not very appetizing but made with lots of love and a pretty great serenade.

My second cake...yummy and can't say I mind the decor here either.

A visit to the school art show to see some of Parker's work on display.

I was glad he was able to explain this "cityscape" to me because upon first look I would never have noticed the little person in the building that he informed me was disco dancing in the city at night. If you look closely you can see the little green people. There is always more than meets the eye to art.

Well maybe not always- this is a clay pumpkin....and that's all there is to say about it.

This Saturday, we got to help with a shower for Brad and Brittany- last one before the wedding. Parker stayed back for a sleepover with Sadie, first practice of the season and lots of fun with Matthew and Meagan...big day!

It's hard to believe in about a month, the wedding will be here!

Can't pass up an opportunity for a game!

Happy to celebrate with them and looking forward to having yet another Mrs. Bullis around.

Warning that there are lots of pictures of a green tutu approaching but everything looks a little cuter with a tutu-hard not to take pictures.

Mouth full of a St. Patty's donut from Booya.

Parker was singing at church this morning. I think these two missed each other- a little pre-singing hug:)

What a a beautiful day...please don't go away fun spring weather. We really enjoyed you today!

Hope you get a little lucky smooch today- even if you're not Irish;)

It's a Girl Thing...

When looking at my pictures lately, I realized "girl" is definitely the theme!  All of my pictures are pretty girly girl and don't think I got my fellas in even one this week...will have to make sure I force them in to more pictures next week;) Sometimes ya just gotta have some girl time! Since I've lost an hour, I'm gonna start preparing myself for Monday and let these lovely ladies speak for themselves!
