Good questions

Tinley asked me this weekend...why don't we live at the beach? Parker asked me why we had to leave? They both want to know how many days till we'll be back. All good questions. Here are my answers- So glad that if I never live at the beach again...I really did live pretty close at one time- answer: go to college at UNC-W- it might be your only chance!  Why do we leave...adult answer: so we'll appreciate coming back. my real answer: I have no idea- let's quit school and just stay.  How many days until we'll be back...18.

Enjoying the beach...

Even Alice enjoyed the water...but got in trouble for skinny dipping. We're gonna have to get her a bathing suit.

We love the musical beds...

We took a step back into Medieval Times.

No need to watch- we will create our own show with these knights.

Happy Memorial Day.

The Finish Line...

There's just something about being able to cross the finish line that causes us to clap, throw our hands in the air and celebrate! Sometimes just seeing the finish line gives you the boost to make it to the other side! It's a time of year when lots of people are graduating, making big decisions and moving on to new chapters...a new finish line ahead.

"Let us run with endurance the race set before us, looking to Jesus the founder and perfecter of our faith." Hebrews 12:1-2

We were happy to join our friends in a race for lung cancer and be a part of their "Team Audrey."

It was a beautiful day for exercise and a great cause.

Keep your eyes on the finish line!

We were also excited to celebrate another special Finish Line at Uncle Matthew's Law School graduation.

We know he's had his eye on the finish line and worked hard to reach this day.

You always need a big team cheering you on!

Congratulations!

10 Years...

Once upon a time (or ten years ago exactly), these two (young kids) were getting ready for a big day...more importantly the rest of their lives together. There were big wishes and dreams- and lots of love!

They have shared some of the happiest days of their lives together. They got jobs...a house...and had lots of fun going starting a great life! Then they had children and couldn't believe how much their love could grow. Lots of days they look at each other like this...

Some days there is craziness- chores to be done, alarm clocks going off, bills to be paid, problems at work, spilt milk, somebody crying, makeup on the carpet, legos on the floor....and they look at each other like this.

But then they remember how God has blessed them with each other and appreciate that all those little moments make up their life together. And just like ten years ago- there is lots of (even more) love.

So thankful for 10 wonderful years together and thankful for the support of the people who stood beside us then and all the people who have been with us on our journey. Looking forward to the next 10! Happy Anniversary Brandon!

Firsts...

We had some important things going on around here this weekend...and some firsts.

Tinley had her first ever dance recital!

We were so proud of our little girl who can be very fearful of stage fright. She didn't  look out at the audience but she danced and looked mighty cute.

I would say she most enjoyed the adoring fans and poses afterwards!

Saturday we went to a Women's Brunch at our church. The theme was centered around becoming a new creation in Christ, therefore making lemonade out of lemons...therefore some upcycling to make something new.

As usual Tinley won the  door prize, which was an "upcycled" wine cork board!

Today Parker had a really important first. After completing the Sacraments class and learning about what Communion really means, he got to take communion for the first time with our family.

We are thankful for his opportunity to learn about Jesus being broken for us and pray he continues to grow in his understanding of what this means for his life. I love his sweet faith!

Tree poses for "the keeper of the forest"

 Some other random fun!

No holding him back now...he's zooming down the street!

A little showoff to make sure she's keeping up!

A biker in the making...hard to hang on!

Ah this sweetness!
